If you are registered as a patient at Battle Hill Health Centre we are pleased to let you know that from 1 October 2018, Park Road Medical Practice will be working with the staff at Battle Hill Health Centre to provide you with GP services. This means that you will be able to see a doctor or nurse at either Battle Hill Health Centre or Park Road Medical Practice, which is located in the centre of Wallsend.

Doctors will be available for booked appointments at Battle Hill Health Centre Monday to Friday, and 9.00am to 11.30am on Saturday morning. There will also be appointments to see an advanced nurse practitioner, who will be able to treat most common medical conditions at Battle Hill during the morning and afternoon each day. The practice nurse and health care assistant will be also be available each morning and afternoon as well as Saturday mornings on a rotational basis.  The same administration staff will continue to work at Battle Hill, and the reception will be open from 8.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings.

As well as being able to see a doctor or nurse at Battle Hill Health Centre, you will also be able to see a doctor or nurse at Park Road Medical Practice in the centre of Wallsend. The opening times here are 8.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday. You can use the existing Battle Hill Health Centre phone number to make an appointment at either Park Road or Battle Hill.

Just a reminder that from 1 October, Battle Hill Health Centre will no longer be functioning as a walk-in centre. From this date a new Urgent Treatment Centre offering  GP-led healthcare 24 hours a day, 7 days a week will commence at North Tyneside District General Hospital at Rake Lane.

If you need urgent care, you can book an appointment at the Urgent Treatment Centre day or night, by calling NHS 111. You can also walk in and wait to be seen at the Urgent Treatment Centre between 8am to midnight, 7 days a week.

We understand that these changes may be a source of anxiety and uncertainty. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of staff at Battle Hill Health Centre.  You will also be able to find out more about our services at Park Road Medical Practice and Battle Hill Health Centre through our websites and we would encourage you to join our Facebook group to get further information.
